Your next 90 days in business


To Plan or Not To Plan

Before my first marketing meeting with my publisher a few months ago, I drafted a marketing 'pie in the sky' plan in Google Drive.

It was something like, "if I had all of the resources and time in the world, here's exactly how I would launch, market, and sell my book..."

(is this something you'd ever be interested in hearing more about? 'Reply' and let me know. I haven't shared about it because I assume no one wants to know!)

With just 2 WEEKS before my first book, When I Start My Business, I'll Be Happy, comes out on April 15 (order my book→), it feels like the night before the wedding over here.

Me and the team are running around like chickens with our heads cut off, partially because there are lots of last minute tasks to do, and partially because...

I'm just freaking the heck out.

Did I forget something?

What am I missing?

How's this going to go?

I feel like I've done everything and not enough at the same time. How is that even possible?

💡 But then I remembered my Google doc book marketing plan.

I was surprised (but my friends weren't) to see that not only had we done every single thing on the list...

But way more.

Without a plan, I can't imagine how I would've marketed this book.

I think it would have looked something like this:

If you go plan-less, you will throw content spaghetti at the wall, try to be on every platform at once, and hopscotch strategies only to be left exhausted, with nothing to show for it.

But when you intentionally plan how you're going to market your business for at least the next 90 days, you'll be in action mode, not reaction mode.

Reaction mode is the most exhausting, with the smallest reward.

When you're in action mode, you intentionally tackle the big-picture projects that will grow your business and move it forward.

Since today is Day 1 of Quarter 2, I wanted to help you come up with a plan for these next 90 days.
